Personal Manifesto
-
Truth is stranger than absolutely anything.
-
That which we know is no less magical.
-
Don’t be a weenie- push everything, conceptual and craft. If it doesn’t seem like it’s enough, it’s not enough. If it seems like enough, it’s probably still not enough.
-
Don’t lose your sense of humor.
-
Art does not exist in a vacuum, and should be treated accordingly.
-
It doesn’t have to be in vogue to be art.
-
Use ‘lesser mediums’ to your advantage, make fine art with mediums that nobody will take seriously.
-
Don’t be absurd for the sake of pretentiousness.
-
Do, however, be absurd for the sake of being absurd.
-
Feed off of spite, if some one says you cannot do something, do it harder, and better than they can.
-
GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE
-
‘Because it looks cool’ is a valid reason, but should be used sparingly.
-
Video games are valid inspiration. EVERYTHING is valid inspiration.
-
BE CRITICAL.
-
The day you only draw one subject and absolutely nothing else is the day you creatively die. Even if it’s only a minor part of what you do, keep yourself creatively varied.
-
The world ends with you- keep growing, keep improving, expand your horizons as far out as they’ll go.
